Chalk Talk

Chalk Talk is an instructional strategy that can be used in any grade level or content are. Students are posed a question or topic and all students are expected to share their thoughts or knowledge on the topic. However, it is done silently through written comments (or pictures for younger students). This can be used in the before, during, or after parts of a lesson depending on what you want students to give their thoughts on. It is a great way to quickly assess the knowledge of all students.
